Portraiture and lifestyle photography

Hi, my name

is Loryne.

Lifestyle

storyteller

I'm a natural light portrait photographer and graphic designer based in Southport, CT. I first started taking photographs more than 15 years with my initial focus being on street and travel photography (still something I love to do whenever I get the chance). I remember using my Canon Rebel on my first solo travel trip to Spain and fell absolutely in love with all the creative possibilities of photography.

In 2010, I founded the Beirut Street Photographers in Lebanon (where I am originally from). We hosted regular photo trips, workshops and exhibitions for a bustling community of local photographers. I also founded and ran the breast cancer non-profit organization One Wig Stand for a few years before moving to NYC in 2016.

My work has since been published and exhibited internationally. I studied at the International Center of Photography (ICP) to develop my documentary and portraiture skills. While living in the city, I also did an intensive culinary program at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) so if you're ever up for talking about anything food or sourdough baking-related, I'm your girl!

We currently reside in Southport, Connecticut (post-Covid move from the city, IYKYK) and my work has since expanded into family and lifestyle portraiture. I love meeting so many of the local families and all the adorable kiddos I've had a chance to document year after year since launching my business.

I primarily shoot in natural light and my style incorporates my design color aesthetics with a candid street photography approach to capture the most authentic expressions during any type of session. You won't find me forcing smiles or making you stand like stiff statues. I'm all about fun and natural moments that leave you forgetting this was even a photo session.

And yes, kids will be unpredictable but I also have a 3-year-old (aka a threenager) and a beagle named Bagel, so I know what it means to get everyone on-board in front of the camera. (Snacks and treats definitely are a must!)

Know that you've gotten to know me a little bit, I would love to learn about you and look forward to meeting you in the near future for a session!

I'm here to document this special moment in time for you: whether you're celebrating growing your family with a sweet baby bump, capturing your kids as they are today - the beautiful chaos that it is! - or just a time to focus on you, your achievements and setting the tone for your vision moving forward with a personal portrait.
