Loryne Atoui is a Lebanese photographer with a background in graphic design and social entrepreneurship. She holds a BFA from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and has worked in Beirut and abroad. Loryne is currently based in New York City.
Photography has been a driving force in her life since 2006 when she first began taking travel and street photographs. Combining her passion for photography and community-building, she launched in 2010 the Beirut Street Photographers (BSP) community with a team of Lebanese street photographers. BSP quickly became a large hub for local talents to showcase their work and develop their skills through photo-walks, workshops, panel discussions and exhibitions.
On a personal level, Loryne has taken part in several exhibitions (solo and group). Currently, she is developing her storytelling skills at the International Center of Photography (ICP) and hopes to tell stories that matter through her documentary work.
When she's not getting lost in the streets of New York with her camera, she enjoys traveling and scuba diving with her husband John.
